Lucas County Health Department is also known as the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department offers the following services and programs: Health Services, Clinical Services, WIC Program, Environmental Health, Seasonal Topics, HIV/AIDS Resource Guide, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention, Links to Other Resources, and Business Health.
The Health Services Division include school-based public health nursing services, communicable disease follow-up, Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps services, newborn screening, follow-up on SIDS deaths, home visiting, and other services. The Clinic Division provides medical, nursing, nutrition, health education, and social services to children and their families to promote health and optimal development. We also provide screening services to identify and treat health, sensory, and developmental problems. Some of these programs are created to meet the primary care needs of citizens who are not able to afford medical care from other sources.
